Hi everyone. My name is Laura and I am one of the Site admins. I just want to welcome everyone to the forum personally and share a little bit about my brothers story.
My brother Justin died from TC at the age of 19. He would have been 22 this year. It is in his memory that this site was created, and spreading awareness about TC is something he wanted to do, as soon as he got out of that hospital bed. After several rounds of Chemo, and other surgery methods, the cancer had already mutated and spread through his body and he died after 16 days. I hope someone else never loses a loved one to a cancer that is preventable.
If you have had TC and are willing to share your story with us, I want to say Thank You. I urge everyone to learn about the disease and do self exams every month. It really could save your life.
Best Wishes.
P.S. Please feel free to post anywhere on the forum and If there are any problems, dont hesitate to PM one of the Moderators or Site Admins. |

Guess I'll give some form of introduction since everyone else has; I never really experianced or knew someone who had cancer until a few years ago and was for some odd reason browsing the obitiaries and saw a friend had died from cancer. No one expected it but somehow she knew since she wrote a poem before she did. The thought of something slowly killing you and not a thing anyone can do is a scary thought. Thankfully Testicular cancer is treatable to some extent unlike other forms. Unfortunatly it is hard to notice until it may be too late. Just because its rare doesnt mean it cant happen to you or someone you care about. Funny thing is alot of people know its out there but many people dont pay attention to it until it knocks on their doorsteps.
Jut my my opinion we should all be aware so we can take better precautions of oneself. Alot of the awareness responsibility is on us and we cant rely on the media or some politician to do much until it happens to them. It is a pleasure for me to help spread awareness. |

| Hey! Its great to meet everyone! I don't personally know anyone affected with TC, but I have heard of its dangers and understand the need to get the word out. I am 20 years old and currently about to enter my junior year at nc state! |
